Anybody familiar with the (new?)Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM ?

Yes, it's a new weather-sealed (full-frame) version of their 12-24mm.

Sigma also claims the optics are better, but it's not available yet.

Is this lens ever going to be released for Pentax? BandH is the only one to list it.

I'm told this Lens is available now for Pentax K-Mount.

The Sigma 12-24mm F4,5-5,6 DG HSM II has never been build for Pentax K. This information is checked with Sigmas official information about this lens.

It was available on special order, I even went close to placing an order myself at a reputable camera store

It may no longer available NOW but it was then back in 2012 when i posted this.
