Did I buy a faulty F135/2.8 ?

Hey all. I just bought a Pentax-F 135mm 2.8 IF. I noticed some kind of haze inside the lens. Here's some photos. The arrows are suppose to help

So, what do you think this is? As you can see from the second photo, the haze somewhat reflects light. A clear see-through spot can be seen in the middle. Is this common to F135/2.8?

I haven't tested the lens outside yet, indoors only. Didn't notice any extra on photos but I guess if the haze will affect photos, it will do so when shooting outside towards bright light. I will test and shoot some photos this weekend.

What I'm afraid of also is a decreased selling value. I'm a hobbyist and wouldn't want to spend big bucks on faulty items. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Could be fungus... Haven't experienced it myself, but it kinda fits the bill.
Sorry.

Thank jolepp, love your avatar

octavmandru, I've seen lens fungus only once before and that time it was... mycelium-a-like.

Can't be certain w/o looking at the actual lens, but if it's the glass right after the aperture blades, it's probably separation. I would seek for a refund anyway.

I own this same lens and mine is clear edge to edge so whatever it is, it's not normal. Send it back for a refund asap.

Yes, looks like element separation to me.

The lens is basically junk. Haze or element separation confirmed. The pitfalls of buying old lenses.

Separation can be due to humidity or impact, but there are still tons of good old lenses out there.

My gut feeling tells me this is separation ... either way, it does not look good.
