This thread most clearly shows the supposed differences between the early serial MIJ and the others.

I have a very well-loved (by a couple members on here) later serial black MIJ and it is fantastic. Really sharp wide open, crazy sharp stopped down and just an amazing amount of detail, nevermind the unique bokeh and rendering. I also dont need any AF adjust with it on my K-5

What a sea of confusion, according to this link: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/31678-about-fa...tml#post404334 - I would be getting a 0023XXX lens, #5 version, which may or may not be as good as the earlier versions

I've just found a 239xx used. I think, if they have made changes from earlier versions, why make it worse? Because it's alredy so damn expensive it can't be due to cost. Will get it if the seller will come online alredy.

Looked some at the comparison pics of early and later. The PIXIEDUST (sorry for the expression)is (MAYBE) more pronounced in the later version even if it's hard to judge by the pics. Sorry for this, but this is the only lens I've seen that has "pixiedust", it's really unique.

BTW, does the latest versions say MADE IN JAPAN?

The 00239xx I'm looking at says MIJ. Does it say that even if it's assembled in vietnam?

No, the latest versions do not show MIJ around the front element. IIRC It would only be labelled on the lens mount if it were AIV.

That just pretty much illustrates what I think of Jessops 'proffessionals' - only a band of 'real' experts can make such a great deal
good for you, though

Are they mentally disabled or something? You could probably risk jail for accepting that deal.

Nice deal!

Got mine for like 400£. Hope it comes with a lot of pixiedust, haven't recieved it yet.

The 43mm Limited is available new from Adorama for @ 570 black and used from Amazon for @ 550 silver with a 30 day return and/or option for extended warranty.

The one I am looking at is a black 0025xxx with "Made in Japan" imprinted.

Nice. I don't know how you pay tax, but I guess it's excluded from those 360?

In 2006 the 43 went for 4000 swedish kr including 25% tax. That would be a little above 400£. Now it's more expensive in 2nd hand. :-(

I guess it is out of stock more or less everywhere in Sweden now? Only two stores lists it at 9000 SEK.

I got mine a year ago for 3700 SEK used from a store, seems like a good deal now
