Pentax A*135 f/1.8 on sale...

Well, just started this thread for "fun"...

Say, there's currently one on eBay right now.. Ending in 2 hrs.. Looks tone in good condition but I wonder how will it end and oh, is it such a good deal to pay a possibly high price for it?
Or in this digital era, it's better to get much modern lenses?

Personally I can't imagine paying such a price to use this lens on an APS-C sensor, although I expect those fortunate enough to own a copy would differ.

I don't know about everyone else, but... If I had the money, I'd buy it!

Went for a mere US$2,185.00. Wow!

Yeah, it went for a couple hundred more than I thought it would. I was predicting right around 2k.

Still pretty expensive though, and not much different in price than a used AF Zeiss 135/1.8 and A850 (which I can personally recommend).

IMHO The A* 135mm F/1.8 represents the pinnacle of Pentax lens quality.

Hmm, at that price you could get more than 2 marginally slower Canon 135mm F2. Anyone knows how it compares to this pentax?

The last four 135s I tracked on Fleabay went for about the same money FYI so this was not unusual. It is rare monster glass and sure will be if a new FF ever hits the market.
