Vivitar made those for many different mounts. Mine is M42 screwmount, and it spends much time on my Spotmatic. DO NOT BUY A MINOLTA MOUNT LENS! It cannot be used nor readily adapted to Pentax PK bayonet mount. Don't buy Konica not Nikon nor Canon nor Exakta nor any other versions -- M42 or PK are your only options. (Exakta-mount lenses are easily adapted, but only shorter lighter ones will mount securely.)

The reason you see many Minolta versions for sale is that they can't be used on most dSLRs. They could be adapted to m4/3 or NEX or other short-register cameras, but they're otherwise useless. Their owners are desperate to dump them. AVOID THEM!

A 70-200 f4

I got mine for less than $100 on ebay. With the iso on the KR should be perfect.
You might find the narrow DOF at 2.8 harder to focus manually anyway so turn up the aperture to as high as you can get away with.
The push-pull zoom is different thats for sure but only takes minutes to get used to.

Thanks for digging up the pointers to my articles - they should be useful. I'd just add that ues, you have to be very careful about the shutter/mirror noise.
