Well, the LBA continues. I got a manual focus sigma lense 24 2.8 at B+H for 80 dollars after shipping. It looks practically brand new.

I found it funny how they shipped it... see below.

I have read this lense performs as good or better than the equivalent pentax-a version which is fairly highly regarded. Any thoughts? I figured B+H is probably better than ebay for a decent used item.

So the LBA continues. Hopefully this performs as good as I hope it does. It was night time so I couldnt really take it for a test run yet. I needed something bit more wide angle than the FA 50, other than the kit lense

I used to hv this lens some 10 years ago. Really sharp just prone to flare. Pentax should have licenced and turned it into a SMC lens.

Good find.
I had one that I sold away to a friend a few months back. Mine came with underexposure problems which I later fixed. Sharpness is OK and overall a good focal length. Agree with wlachan that a hood is needed to avoid flare. Only thing I didn't like about this lens is the distance markings on the focusing barrel can come off after a while.
