TAMRON SP 90mm F2.5 and EX tube???

I managed to find an old TAMRON SP 90mm F2.5 macro lens. Dirt cheap too. It goes to 1:2 as it is and with some research I discovered that they made an extension tube for this lens to get it down to 1:1. anybody ever owned one of these tubes? Does it have a glass element or just the same as a regular extension tube?

Any extension tube will do the trick. No glass required. You could, however, put a decent 2x TC on it and get a 1:1 180mm F5.0 lens.

I got one too, and I got a SP flat field 2x converter instead of the tube. I think the tube is more rare to find. It works great with the converter.

Either tube or converter goes between lens and adaptall adapter - and so you get whatever automation there is in the adaptor. A regular tube between adaptall and camera needs to be the appropriate pentax mount to maintain whatever automation you have.

The tube has no glass.

Thanks for the info guys and the picture Nesster. I think your version is a little newer (55mm fliter thread vs 49mm on the one I found). I think I'll wait till it comes in and try the AF1.7TC on it. Won't get down to 1:1 but that TC doesn't affect picture quality much.
