I think "DA" stands for "the DAmn lens does all the work for you", I couldn't believe my first shots with the 70.... I can feel the softness of the dog's fur, almost smell it, it's that naturally sharp.

Andy:

All 3 were shot in RAW and converted with Lightroom. Basic sharpening was really all I did. I think I bumped up the black in the beach scene as well.

Sweet Lens

Beautiful shots all. Love the dog. That lens is a temptress. I look at and consider others but I always seem to come back to 70. Dang LBA

Oh, Man!

I'm thinking of getting this lens, and I stumbled on this thread!

Will power, I need will power!

Nice shots.

Wow, very tempting to look at. The dog looks so adorable in deed and bokeh is pleasant too

Thanks for all of the kind words everybody. My dog (Noah) is getting up in years but makes a good model. I know the limited's are expensive, and I'm on a tight budget, but I'm very happy with this purchase. Now it's time to start saving for the 21...maybe next year!

The DA70 is the best of the DA Limiteds. Its a fantastic specialist portrait lens.

Along with the DA*16-50 and the F*300, it forms part of a trio of lenses that I would never part with unless I had no other option.

But I don't think I will get the other two limiteds as the DA* 16-50 covers their focal lengths quite well.
