Some more shots using the K5 and DA40XS.
Taken during a recent local Pentaxian photo trip to Malacca.

After a whole day lugging around gear in 35degC cloudless weather, its was really refreshing to just switch to a K5+DA40XS.
So unencumbering a setup to use.

Went for more photos in the local night market (aka. Pasar Malam in local malay language)

Matched with the high ISO performance of the K5 and use of lighting coming from the stalls, the DA40XS performed pretty well.

I even eyed a young Canon DSLR using lad running ahead of me to spy on what strange DSLR I was using with "no lens"

some more..

Gotta say that for the price (split from a K-01 package that a friend bought), this is quite a lens.
The handiness, fast AF response, compact size and even the 'plastic' light weight, coupled with 40mm on APS-C makes it a very nice street shooting lens.
Top it off with f2.8 aperture and good optical performance and low price, I have 'ZERO' regrets getting this lens even though I already have a 43ltd and FA35.

Thanks for the mini review! I hope that they produce a whole line of these lenses... Affordable, great looking, fast... Boy would I love to see a 70 2.8 in that price range and performance. How about a whole kit of them!! That price range would not create too many divorces
