Hi,
is it right that the Tamron 1.4x AF PZ MC4 works with a Sigma 70-200mm 2,8 II EX DG HSM. Can that anyone confirm?

Kind regards elektriker

not sure about your combo of TC and lens but i use a Pentax 1.7 AF Adaptor with my Tamron 70-200 f2.8 without any problems so it's likely your combo will probably work OK too, but there is probably a member on here that uses your combo and will give you more accurate info

I had the Kenko and that worked with SDM lenses. So my gues is also with HSM. Never tried and don't have the Kenko anymore.

I have that Tamron teleconverter but not that lens. I'm pretty sure it will pass power through to HSM to enable focus to move, but whether focus will lock, and whether the IQ is acceptable, I can't tell you.

My Tamron 1.4x Pz-AF MC4 works well with a Sigma 150-500mm DG OS HSM. Even at a very slow f/6.3 at 500mm, it focuses quickly using the HSM. (PowerZoom contacts to the rescue!)

Image quality? Not "tested" extensively, but appears to be better than my Pentax 1.7x AFA.

I tested with Sigma 120-400 HSM and found focus to work, but more slowly. Optical results were ok, but not spectacular. I think you will find better results with the 70-200.

I have the Kenko and the Sigma 70-200 HSM II. The combo works, but AF is as may be expected slower than without the TC.

I tried this tonight, and yes, it appears to work!!!!

So that with the K5, we are talking about a 510mm?

So the Tamron - $800 and the 1.7 AF is about $400 - much less than the coming 500+ DA lens and faster!

Nice.
