Fast, wide-angle lens

My next lens purchase for my K10D is going to be a super-wide-angle lens. I'm leaning toward the 14mm f2.8 because I like using primes and fast lenses.

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether Pentax has plans to introduce a wider, fast lens.

The 12-24 appeals to me, but I'd like something faster. Ditto the fisheye 10-17, although the big problem here is the inability to attach a polarizing filter to this lens.

What does everyone recommend here? I like shooting landscapes mostly, and some architectural interior photos.

Thank you,

Brucie

Tokina (I think?) has announced a 11-16mm f/2.8, not sure if it will come out in a Pentax mount, or Pentax will build a "similar" one (ala the 50-135mm, 16-50mm Tokina/Pentax collaboration)

I love my Sigma 10-20mm, but do wish it was faster at times.

i also have the sigma and it's an insanely wide lens and I love being able to go to 10mm... but some of the time i have to go to about 14mm to get acceptable levels of distortion in the corners. and it is *carry a tripod around* slow for indoor architectural photography. kinda wish I'd gone for the 14mm Pentax for those reasons, although i got my sigma very cheap so there was no question for me really :P might be worth waiting on the tokina if that is true.

Isn't DA 14 from Pentax f2.8? If yes, it may be answer you are looking for...

Read his original post - "I'm leaning toward the 14mm f2.8 because I like using primes and fast lenses." BUT he was wondering if there's anything W-I-D-E-R....

You betcha!

I'm still interested in the DA 14mm f2.8 and this may very well be the lens I end up buying, unless Pentax announces something appealing later this month. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!

Not everybody uses a wide angle for land/cityscapes. A lot of extreme sport photogs use wide angles. Even some wedding and interior photogs use wide angles.
