I love detail! I know that most people are into composition. That is important! But I have always been obsessive for details. I want the tiniest detail to be available. Maybe some of you have seen my signature evolve over the last month or so as I try lenses and purge some...

Anyone interested in my Kiron 105mm??? Send Pm and I will make you a sweet deal on it!

Tell me a little bit about the Kiron?

I decided not to get the Voigtlander, even though I really want it and figure now I'll never have a shot at one... I can't see myself spending $800 on a lens when I'm about to take a 6 month trip through Asia (I need wide-angle more than macro for a trip/landscape/city type lens at this time)

It's quite unfortunate =/

But I could use a good macro lens if this Kiron is up there... what's the quality like? Sample shots?

Tom and others,

What are your thoughts on the soft hood cover? I have the 180 with the recommended hood, which has a metal hood cover. I have had no real issues with the rubber one but I find it harder to slip in my pocket while I am using the lense as I do with most lense caps during photos. Congrats on your purchase, hope you enjoy it.

The 125 truely is great - all I need is for some nice weather.

I love those covers, they are so easy to put o and off, the screw on caps for the lenses are a pain. I have the 180 with the hood as well, I dont really mind the rubber of the 125, a metal cap would add more to the weight and the rubber one is fine for me

Welcome to the Voigtlander appreciation club ... great unveiling. The link to the thread posted early on to a link of a similar name (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/13248-voigtl-n...-thoughts.html) could use an injection of pictures to bring it back to life.

I don't. I'm sorry for your predicament, but there's a lot of us that will be interested in seeing how high the prices go...

expecting this to happen was the reason I picked up this lens when I did. Seems almost strange to discontinue such a good lens though. wonder if it was a flop in the japanese market

Aren't they discontinueing it due to the licensing arangement with the Carl Zeiss lenses??

or did I misunderstand this. I thought they were only doing limited runs of the Voightlanders then strictly producing Zeiss lenses.

Let me know if I am wrong on this.

Sorry you couldnt get one, I'll be sure to post some screen shots when spring rolls around... till then the 125 paperweight for my tax paper work.
