I am about to dive into thin DOF on the cheap, pretty sure others are interested too. Why is it taking so long to launch a repackaged lens?

I am awaiting this lens with impatience (too) ... and hope for a performance level like my DA 35mm f2.4 AL!

They give no date just the year on the roadmap. Be patient

Why not get a used FA 1.4/50? It's probably cheaper than a new DA 50 would be and also superior in terms on thin DOF.

The DA is going to be considerably cheaper than even a used FA 50. I don't expect it to be priced somewhere between the DA 35/2.4 and the DA 40/2.8 XS.

It will probably arrive with the new K-?, like a kit lense ...

Probably in a couple of months together with the K-z, I'd say early summer.
