K-3 and DA 18-135
100 ISO mostly ƒ8. AV mode

I really wish there was a K-1 lens that gives me what thistles gives me, but there isn't. One body, one lens, no fooling around, means K-3 and DA 18-135.

3 hours, a couple of inches of icey spongy snow on top of a solid ice pack for a trail. It is above zero, so there are some fog patches. We walk along Hardtack Trail.

Our boats, waiting for open water.

I had a rare opportunity to drive through a wind farm yesterday. My trusty K5iis and DA 18-135 really came through for me.

Doggy Daycare on a field trip?

The poster that started this thread asked for "your awesome 18-135 shots," but unfortunately this shot is rather ordinary on a dreary end to a dreary month of March. This happy haphazard collection of domestic dogs reminded me of a group of preschoolers being herded down the street when it is determined they need some fresh air.

My first attempt at northern lights. I have never seen pink before. Sadly I could have used a wider lens but the 18-135 was all I had on my camera that night. I was on a northern Manitoba ice fishing trip and we fished till midnight one night. The fishing was slow but the light show was spectacular. The camera (or my skills) doesn't do it justice.

I'm amazed how low to the horizon the lights got and the pink/purple band is something I don't think I've ever seen, either. How long of an exposure is this?

It is a 30 second exposure. I tried less to minimalize the blurr from the movement of the northern lights but then it was too dark. In hindsight I should have shot it anyways and bumped the exposure up in post.
This was the most spectacular display I have ever witnessed. It was a surreal experience. Just 5 good pals out on the middle of a massive lake ice fishing into the night. The lights danced like this for at least an hour, first starting with green and then added the pink. Sadly I didn't have a tripod so I had to rest my camera on the rear storage box of the atv I was riding. I did have to crop to remove part of the front windshield and handlebars so I lost a little of the expanse of sky but not much.

Spring is officially here, but today's weather was a mixture of sunshine, freezing rain and sleet, served with a big helping of wind.

First bike ride of the season yesterday near Grand Junction. I bumped into this local near a trail called Coyote Ridge.
