Thanks Ray. That's my camera-shy little brother in the shot, too

A portrait of "Booger"

This is our little street urchin stray that we adopted a little over a year ago. She's probably about a year and a half old. Her intellect and personality are stunning for a dog so young, and we love her goofy face. She's a "Velcro dog" and loves us, too. We lost our eldest daughter in a private plane crash last October, and if it weren't for the positive attitude and support of this little dog, coping with the tragedy would have been a lot harder. Taken on the spur of the moment in natural indoor light, at ISO 3200, using the K-3 and the 18-135, 1/30 sec., f/4.5.

Thanks for sharing both the photo and the experience John. It's obvious how charming and intelligent Booger is. You were blessed to have her come into your lives at such a time - maybe good karma after your adoption of her. Hope we will see some more images of her.

Just in case someone is looking for a picture of fire taken with this lens. A little bit of noise reduction has been applied with Topaz Denoise.

Took this hand held shot of the moon with the lens mounted on a K70. Even though the shot is heavily cropped there is still plenty of detail

Always like a still photo that looks like it is moving, between the vertical cropping and the accidental precision marching of the pedestrians, it looks like a freeze frame from a video.
