Had a nice outing with this one today, after a little while of neglect.

nice image there Paul.

I remember a few years back there was a fuss about the 18-135 not being good enough, well I don't know what the fuss was about, it seems a great lens, quite happy with mine for general use, sharp as.

Thanks! I'm late to the party, only just recently acquiring my copy. It's become an instant favorite!

I like this image a lot as well. Am I correct to say that you're also posting a lot in the M-series and/or takumar thread? How do you chose between the 18-135 and one of the M/takumar primes? I really like the 18-135, but somehow I end up feeling a bit guilty about not using an older prime that forces me to slow down my photography. Not sure whether this makes sense?

And that's where it shines as a very convenient weather sealed lens. Nice shot!

One of my shots with the 18-135 last January 2019. Dinagyang Festival is always getting stronger every year. It attracts a lot of tourists from all over the world

It does make sense. I also feel like I need to give my manual lenses more use, but the 18-135 offers a very good "grab & go" solution. It's a great lens for when you're out with family/friends, and don't want to hold up the group, and still get good quality images. I like using manual lenses when I'm on my own, and can take all the time I need.

I saw a lot of amazing portrait shots from this lens. Been debating whether to get this or some old F zooms and the Tamron 28-200

Don't discount the benefits of 18-27mm focal length range, on an APS-C camera, 28mm is almost a "normal" focal length and not very useful for wide angle shots. The DA 18-135 also has excellent auto-focus.
