OK, so I'll add some winter fun to this thread as well. The 18-135 is my go-to lens on the ice. Small, flexible, capable of taking some really nice images and able to withstand freezing temperatures. Here are some images of the skating we did just last week.

Nice! Looks like some fun ice. Ours is buried in snow now.

Yep, it was good while it lasted (we're at +5 C now and headed for +15 C in the weekend) and the ide was nice, but not the slick black stuff that I've seen in your images.

We had quite a bit of textured ice like you had too. It skates reasonably well and will certainly do when that's what we got.
Ice is such a fleeting phenomena. Makes it all the sweeter when it's black glass.

Pried the 20-40 limited off my Kp and spent all day with the 18-135WR today.

Penny in foreground, cormorants fishing off the rock in the background.

Penny and her best friend, Misha.

My Penny loving time off leash on a new sandbar.

These are lovely, and she looks like a lovely dog.

Here's an image I would only take with the 18-135 as it is the only lens that I have to take out in snowing, foggy, 110% humidity conditions.

I couldn't agree more. Enjoy it while it lasts.
