Nice image, what backdrop did you use? It looks like some velvet, but it works very nicely.

I believe it may have been some fabric I borrowed from my quilter wife to use as a backdrop, it's been so long ago when I took that...

Glad to hear that you like it. It's my favourite walkaround lens as well; it hardly ever fails me, especially at the wider end of things/

That is a great image, I love the way the foreground disappears into greyness and then turns all fiery orange. Very well done. Did you use focus stacking for this image?

Her's a different kind of environment closer to my home.

Thank you and a "well done" for yours as well!

No focus stacking, I took the shot at f/11 with the ISO at 800 (the high-ISO performance of the KP came into play here) and focused on that "rock" in the mid-foreground. That must have been enough to achieve enough depth of focus for this shot. There were a few others that evening where I wasn't so lucky!

I like the colors. Are they true to nature or was post-processing applied? I am trying to fiddle with PP - not always with great success.

Thanks Alan! There was only slight post-processing by way of a mid-tone contrast and a little shadow lightening. Make no mistake, the light when this image was taken was like nothing I'd ever seen. The setting sun behind the mountain lit up the fortuitous cloud layer that in itself cast a lavender glow over the entire area as darkness slowly advanced. It was a surreal moment, especially at that place!
