Lovely light.

At a nearby botanical garden - DA18-135 on K10D:
Thanks, Paul. That's a nice scene as well, especially with the shadows.

Did you increase the blues as well? The leaves in the shade look quite bluish. Or is it just an effect of bringing down the reds?

.
Probably is down to playing with the reds (It's a constant struggle with reds), didn't touch any of the colours, just the white balance and tone curve, here's the same pic with a warmer white balance (probably better).

Thanks. It was a struggle to find some nice light in the middle of the day! I hope to return soon.

Talk about perfect timing....I was able to capture the strobe on the tail!

That is a great shot!

You all have done such a great job of showing the performance potential of this lens that I decided I need one. To afford it, I will be eating Kraft dinner for a month... so thanks very much!

All kidding aside, I think I will start looking for one of these on the Buy/Sell section. If I can find one that is in great shape for a decent price, I will buy it. I used to be a "Nikon for life" kind of photographer, but with Pentax's broad range of high quality lens offerings, I am glad to be a Pentax camera owner.

Note: I didn't JUST switch from Nikon, health issues forced me to sell all of my camera gear about 6 years ago. Things are better now, the wide range of used Pentax camera bodies and lenses at decent prices made my return to photography possible, and I am really enjoying photography again.

You won't regret it Keep an eye on the Marketplace here on the forums. I've seen them turn up priced around $150 at times. Try to get one with the hood included. Good luck!

Decidedly get one with the hood. I just replaced one. They are ~US$40.

Thanks! I love that view too. The trail is really fun and I can ride it from my house which makes it extra nice. That is our town in the distance of the second shot.

That's a definite bonus. I love the walks that I can do from my house as well. Looks like a great place to be living if you like the great outdoors.
