First picture with my new DA 18-135 mm zoom on K3. Who said it was a "soft" lens ??

Taken with flash in P mode.

Test of the DA 18-135 mm on a K3, 18 mm FL, between f/16 and f/5.6, + 135 mm FL.

K3 + DA 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6, 100 ISO, 18 mm FL (first 4) and 135 mm FL (last).

1/80 sec @ f/16

1/160 sec @ f/11

1/320 sec @ f/8

1/640 @ f/5.6

View of the river at 135 mm FL and f/11. Nice sharpness overall and f/11 seems optimum opening.

Looks like someone's having fun . Nice looking shots (I prefer the non-flash flower photo) !

Thank you, Paul. Indeed, today was a wonderful day. I discovered another highly usable DA zoom lens. Reports that it is a weak, "near garbage" lens are greatly exaggerated. I was pleasantly surprised by its excellent performance. Cheers !

Best Regards

18 mm FL @ f/11

Pictures of the day : flowers everywhere this morning.

This morning, I'm still trying my new DA 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 ED WR and I'm delighted by the results this so-called "garbage lens" is able to deliver. Either I fell on a darn good copy or critics missed the point entirely.

31 mm FL @ f/11

68 mm FL @ f/11

88 mm FL @ f/11

P.S. Thank you Paul, Ray and Hans for your words of encouragement. This is indeed a VERY GOOD lens.

Lilac in bloom this morning. K3 + DA 18-135 mm ED WR, 1/200 sec @ f/11, 135 mm FL

Very nice and sharp rendering of Lilac flowers. Spring is the most beautiful time of the year, not Christmas ...
