These are lovely. In the the last one (18mm) I find the plane slightly distracting, but I love the crepiscular rays in the last two. Beautifully captured.

Hello Hans,

The plane was producing contrails (white jet exhaust traces on the right upper side of the image) when departing from the International Airport and it stopped doing this suddenly (I guess they push their engines to maximum RPM when they take to the air and relent a little when they become airborne, thus ending spewing contrails). That's in part what I wanted to picture.

Best Regards

The more I use this superzoom, the more I like it ... DA 18-135 mm ED WR + K3

Really good results at 135 mm FL and f/11. Really remarkable performance for a 7,5X zoom ...

As a Yooper, I have to ask - where in the Upper Peninsula was the photo taken? If I had to guess, Lake Michigan off US-2 looking west?

Toward Porcupine Mountains State Park. I didn't recall a lighthouse in that location. Thanks!

There is no lighthouse but there is a beacon about 1/4 mile offshore

Well, that plan worked! I guess this is foremost a matter of taste and I guess that I have become spoiled, being able to take so many pictures of the sky without planes or contrails in it. Thanks for letting me know, this is an amazing lens and you're putting it to good use!

Aha, I'm guessing that's the first right from the main road? Looks like a nice and dark place at night with a great milky way.

Plenty of complex "spiral" mathematical functions hiding in my backyard.

Morning light reveals the beauty of the Daisy flower. K3 + DA 18-135 mm ED WR, 135 mm FL @ f/11. Who said this lens was a fiasco ???
