Hi Richard. I haven't visited the city proper - only the Bluffs area south (?) of town. So many places I haven't visited yet here in Cali.

These are lovely, and what a great dog! The way she looks up in the last image is so nice to see. Great capture.

These have some very vibrant colours, and a nice scene.
Thank you! She's a fun model to shoot and likes the camera

Thank you very much; it was a great afternoon with amazing light, so I was happy to have brought the camera.

From the same afternoon, just a few minutes later

Nice, I like the long exposure effect on the water, but the vegetation does seem a bit unsharp and the second image has this 'mist' over it. Is that from the water drops in the air or some kind of optical effect?

Here's one from a week ago or so.

I like all the images on this page, including yours! I think the unsharpness in the vegetation of those images is due to wind and the slower shutter speed used to "speed up" the water-flow. I don't use that much extreme with flowing water myself, though I understand many people like that effect. To me it makes the water look like cotton candy. I try to make it look as close as possible to the way it really looks- but that is just me. In that second image, however, the wind was apparently blowing quite strongly, and as a result I really like the overall effect with both the trees and water- rather like impressionist painting!

Thanks, and that's it indeed: An impressionist look, which actually suits the scene you've captured quite nicely. I was just wondering whether it was some spray or so from the falls. I'm a bit torn when photographing flowing water: the cotton candy-effect isn't too appealing to me, but I'm not too keen on the frozen movement look either. The problems we face!
