Hi Tomm. SInce you are familiar with the 55-300mm, this comparison may interest you. The 55-300mm is a little better in the corners than the 18-135, but you will need to pixel peep at full resolution to see it, or print at an ungodly size. Click on the magifying glass, then zoom in:

Nice comparison shots! I have noticed the color of the 18-135 is much nicer! But you're right, no much difference in sharpness here.. Although in my previous post I was talking about the 55-300 compared with the 50-200.

Also, bokeh on the 18-135 is smoother than the 55-300 at the same focal lengths.

Very cool. Is that fog or pollution?

Hi! Thanks!

I think it's a combination of both clouds and pollution over Shanghai. Anyway it was a great sunny day and good photo opportunities!

Bought my K5 with 18-135 lens a few days ago. Played in my garden. I'm happy with it so far.

Another one. It's not a macro lens, but does an OK job.

I find the 18-135 to be indispensable for use as a walk-around lens, especially on vacations, where the focal range versatility is hard to beat.

It's not really fall anymore but it's not really winter yet either. Some tweener shots. All taken with the 18-135 @ F 5.6

I like mine. I bought it because I didn't have a WR lens and figured this would be a useful FL range.
My favorite lenses are the DA Limited primes and owning this lens has not changed that. But for what it is it certainly isn't bad. I took it out in the pouring rain when I was visiting my parents in Michigan in fall and it performed well enough and better than any of my other lenses since I wouldn't take them out in the rain like that!
