I bought a mid range polarizer that I don't quite remember if it's slim or not (don't have it handy). Since the lens will produce vignetting without a filter I imagine having one will add to it but honestly I have found I never really need it.
I own several CPLs and pretty much never use any of them, or if I do it's to slow the shutter like a ND filter for moving water.
You have a good point about vignetting. I haven`t used the 62mm CPL much, and only at 18mm f8. It could be problematic at other focal lengths and apertures. I am often surprised at where vignetting occurs on the lens.

I have not methodically tested where it happens but I have been surprised by it too. It's very noticeable sometimes but I've been too lazy to collect the info to know exactly when. At least it's easy to fix these days.

I saw these guys painting a water tower yesterday so I pulled over and took a photo at 135mm. It was very overcast and gray, and even hazy.

Ambrosia (yes, the band more famous in the 70's and 80's) played today. They still sound great, and all us aging boomers still "Holdin' on to Yesterday."
Band from left to right: Chris North on the Hammond, Joe Puerta on bass, Rick Cowling on keyboard/guitar, Doug Jackson on the pretty red Strat, ? on percussion, Burleigh Drummond on drums. BTW, the one of Doug Jackson is at 135mm, and I don't see any problems of softness at this long end.

Fog was rolling in off the lake, but the neighbor's canoe caught the morning sunshine, and saved an otherwise soft boring landscape. The final composition was achieved through cropping. Original was at 115mm at f/8.

Just a few shots from K7 with my favourite lens the 18-135 WR. I'll post some more when I have a chance to use my K5ii.

Our local paper published a half page spread of some of my recent storm photos from around here.
All three were taken with the 18-135. I was using it for the WR in case I ended up under one of those storms!

From a recent canoe trip... it's not only a great walk around lens, it's a great paddle around lens.

View from the stern.

I took mine out on a fun day of adventure on mountain bikes with a good friend. Fun day!

We had just climbed that road in the distance. Whew!

I was out walking the dog yesterday with my camera slung at my side when a shadow passed overhead. I barely had time to swing my camera up and had to depend on full automatics (which is why I park my camera on an auto mode between shots). At 135mm I still had to crop a lot.

A couple minutes later, I took a much more leisurely shot of a local marsh.
