I haven't shot a roll of Kodachrome in roughly twenty years and the greens of summers left on Saturday with the first snowfall since April.

Some dead wildflowers for your viewing enjoyment:

Sadly my once favorite film is long long gone.

But Ektachrome is back! There is something about setting up a projector, pulling down the screen and clicking through a couple reels of slides that brings on a powerful nostalgia attack.

At the end I mostly only took the DA15 and DA18-135 with me on my recent trekking tours, sometimes accompanied by the DA55-300PLM. Because of weight I left K-1 at home and took KP with me. I don't regret it!

A somehow lightweight and compact setup for what it is and with great image quality. When I look at the images I took with the KP • DA18-135 combo my impression is compared to K-5 • DA18-135 the images overall are better with the KP. This I also feel when I'm looking at DA15 images. I'm pretty happy.

Nice.
That's the lens kit I climbed Kilimanjaro with on my K-3 last year. No regrets on that for my back and the safety of my K-1. Everything performed well for me too.

Thank you! I remember your Kilimanjaro posts and liked them very much!

I posted a panorama in the B&W thread. There you see Langkofel and Plattkofel as main mountains within a wonderful mountain site.

Some days later my wife and me took another route that winded behind the Plattkofel, right mountain in the obove mentioned panorama, where at some time we met a view of the (I think) Sella Group, Dolomites. There I also made a panorama - since I didn’t have a tripod with me, this time I did it handheld. Again Combo KP • DA18-135. From your posts I know that you sometimes work that way too. Here’s my attempt. A wonderful mountain site …

This image consists of four images in landscape mode stitched with PTGui, post processed in Capture One Pro. The second image I rate very important for the composition. The direction of the „dotting stones“ within the darker meadow underline the diagonal aspect and slope …

This image also can easily stand for itself IMO.

Hmmm... where are all the 18-135 shooters.... don't make me make 3 posts in a row.

There's so much out there right now, even short walks produce good images, and I missd many that were equally good, but with no tripod, I just couldn't nail them.

K-3 and DA 18-135.

I took 8 shots, one was good. IN low light, you just never know.

A lovely remote place.
Every island, off the island State, off the island continent, is remote! Bruny Island, the channel between it and mainland Tasmania (D'Entrecasteaux Channel) and a number of other places in southern Tasmania are named for or by the 1792 expedition led by French Admiral Antoine Bruni d'Entrecasteaux. The poor chap died of scurvy within a year, his crew by then riven by their divided positions over the French Revolution.

Bruny Island is accessible by a short vehicular ferry ride from the town of Kettering. Here's an image from the ferry looking south down D'Entrecasteaux Channel, with the island to the left (east). Cape Bruny is not visible; it's at the far southern tip of the island, about 60km from the ferry terminal point on Bruny. K-S2 + DA 18-135.

Like a lot of treasures in Tassie, Bruny has a feeling of remoteness but is quite accessible. Highly recommended for your next trip south.
