Yes, this year is off to a decent start and a far cry from last year when it barely snowed at all (which was in contrast to the previous year when it seemed like it would never stop).
Hoping for a good year for my own recreation and also to replenish depleted reservoirs!

Sunset on the Washington coast, featuring our local super patriot (he marches the American flag out to the waves to watch the sunset pretty much every evening, come rain, snow or shine). December 18th, 2018. K-70 and the 18-135 WR

I don't know if the difference is focal length or the the position of the sun, but the second image is excellent at showing the not-very-calm surf. Thanks for sharing!

Proudly hailed at the twilight's last gleaming. :-) You are on a roll with American icons at the moment!

Fabulous sunset images.

Thanks, Des!

I have you to credit for my persistence in learning how to love my 18-135 WR. I enjoy shooting with it so much now that my 16-85 is up for sale! (I need to scrounge up the cash for a proper birding lens... you'll get credits for that suggestion too, when it happens )

Super nice composition and tone in this one! It looks almost like (proper) HDR!

Thank you! I suspect focal length, although that one IS cropped down a little bit too. Wide angle from standing height really doesn't convey how "not-very-calm" that surf usually is

That's very kind of you. I saw your sale thread. You were initially leaving it to the market to decide which one you parted with - that seemed a very Zen approach! I don't think there's a wrong answer; I've debated with myself a couple of time whether to swap the 18-135 for 16-85. But it's so handy, and it performs so well once you learn to play to its strengths. You're getting some crackers with it now.

Ah the birding lens. That's a discussion for another thread. ;-)

Christmas day sundown - Las Cruces, NM U.S.A.

I took this shot with the K-3 and the 18-135 just after sundown on Christmas day. We were visiting my daughter and her family in Las Cruces, NM.
