I also have a cache of Ltd primes that have seen little action, too.
I know what you mean. My 43 and 77 don't see as much use as they should. But I couldn't bear to part with them - when I want them, I really want them.

Who else brings their camera with them to pick up a new lens at the post?!? A few quick shots with the 18-135 WR (my second copy) before it starts raining (again...) I just SOLD my 16-85 and I have my 20-40 Limited up for sale too.

Feels like welcoming an old friend I haven't seen in awhile

Why worry about the rain with the 18-135? Great shot of the eagle btw

Cross posted from the panorama thread. THis is a five shot handheld standing next to the tracks. About 180 degree FOV and this lens can even do fish eye! Without the distortion

Thanks! Not really worried about the rain, per se, but rather the loss of light. I really wanted to make my first batch of images with it more contrasty and colorful

I would not take this lens out for astro work, but for anything else it's always in my kit

More skiing this morning on the small mountain next to town. The main lift at the local area is broken and lines there are long. I'd normally do some bigger backcountry but the avalanche danger is too high right now on the bigger stuff. So we had some fun doing what we call meadowskipping. Generally not enough pitch to slide or at least not very far or deep. Pretty fun too!

Thanks Ray. The whole of the Anthony Road is a marvellous drive - highly recommended if you get the chance.

A casual portrait of Penny

I was with Tara and The Puppy Pack at Reservoir Park this weekend. I took my K70 and 18-135 as a light travel kit. Penny and her owner are new to the neighborhood and Penny has been moping around ever since she moved away from her best friend in the old neighborhood. Brady, Wyatte and Gracie of the Pack, plus Lincoln and a puppy named Willow were there. But there were also a couple big Black and Tan hounds that were new to the park as well. These hounds got themselves worked up over a squirrel and started getting aggressive toward the other dogs in frustration. So Penny stayed on the perimeter of the interaction.

These squirrel chasers meant business.

These two hounds treed a squirrel and, possibly by genetic make up, wouldn’t shut up about it. It was at best annoying to the other dog owners and intimidating to some of the other dogs like Penny (pictured above). They got pretty worked up exhibiting white foamy slobber with incessant barking. My friends Lab/Dane mix assumed a position between them and us while barking “Shut the heck up!”

The cacaphony and my friend finally got the attention of the owner of the hounds, who called his charges over and got them to sit in a “time out.’” We leashed up and went back to the car. Rune, the Corgi, was just arriving as we got in the car so Tara had to get out and warn Runes owner about the ruckus. This left me in the passenger seat with a K70 in my lap and 3 dogs in the back with nothing to photograph except...

A Robin

Yeah, back before I started coming here regularly and got GAS and LBA, a K70 and an 18-135 was all I thought I needed.
