Reservoir Park Pump House door

This is just across the street from the where we take the dogs. It’s been repainted since I took this.

I wonder if OP is now convinced of the value and versatility of this lens.

This one taken from a hot air balloon in the Namib near Sossus vlei

My first thought was that the Martian Rover was equipped with the DA 18-135.

I am sure their pics would have been better with the 18-135

I guess that was rhetorical musing, but it's interesting to answer literally. @Tomm, the OP, did get the 18-135 and liked it (DA 18-135 review - Tomm) but last we heard (2013 thread by Tomm) he was considering going to Nikon for FF. Tomm's lasting legacy is nearly 2800 posts of people enjoying the lens, which must have convinced a lot of people to buy it or keep it. It did me.

Enjoying your Namibia shots @Basie; the shot from the balloon is amazing.

Thanks Des. It is a sense an easy place to get good looking shots and I was convinced to buy this lens as well largely because of this thread. Must be one of the most successful lens threads on this forum

It can even do star shots as well. Probably not deep sky

This in Tsondab vlei, which is closed to the public, but I get go once a year for a vulture tagging project

The bright star is Venus, at that date in the Scorpion constellation ( well known to us southern hemisphere dwellers) overlying Antares, the 'heart' of the scorpion. The scene is illuminated by a half moon nearly overhead. Taken at 18 mm and 20 sec exposure

Nice shot! Des helped push me into understanding what could be done with this lens and after it sold with my K-70 I tried to fall in love with the 16-85 and the 20-40 Limited. Now I'm back where I started. The other two are gone and I'm enjoying my second copy of THIS lens. I wondered if the wide end might work well for stacking stars, particularly the Milky Way... nice to see someone using it for that!

I may feel over-confident, or maybe i think i'm idiot myself, yeah, i tried to impress some hot chicks in the beach, so i paid a price.....
but i guess my case could be "18-135 can't do"

K70+18-135 against beach water on sand ground, a small tide suddenly slapped both 2!

so how the result after?

+ The K70 body survive wonderfully, but some sands made shutter button stucks, i have fixed that by pouring water to make sand out, the shutter button live again!
+ The 18-135 survive, seem like there is no dust, water come inside, wow really? but what are the bad things?

* AF stopped working, only MF
* Aperture jumping around 3.5-4 at 18mm, confuse exposure metering, smaller F cause overexposure
* Can't switch live view, if i do so, the camera automatically switch for to VF mode, but movie mode is fine, but unable to enter menu settings, oop!

i tried attach other len, everything worked normal, so i knew 18-135 really broken now!

please guy, don't ever try that!
