Interesting making a comparison between the first kite picture at 40mm (with kites far away) and the last one at 135mm (where the kites look like they are much closer together and flying just above the parked vehicles).

Thanks for the observation! Most of these were cropped and given a bit of white balance adjustment. It was one of those occasions where there is almost too much stuff to try and compose shots around. Didn't even think about taking the 18-135 off for something else. I love this lens.

Hopefully this embed works - sibling running with our parents' dog down the beach on an uncharacteristically sunny day. The vignette is absolutely forced by darktable editing and at the request of the subject, who is nicely highlighted (in my opinion) as a result.

A shot of the Bell Tower at night commemorating the 1917 Halifax Explosion in Fort Needham. The explosion destroyed nearly half the city and is still considered the largest explosion ever detonated in the pre-nuclear era

That's a great example of the 3D pop this lens is capable fo producing.

Thank you for the kind words! I've certainly a long way to go but initial experiences with this lens are good!

Even though I only own a K-1 now, I am keeping the DA 18-135mm and using it in crop mode, or FF and cropping out the minimal vignetting. The IQ and WR make this lens a keeper

My better half with our rescue, Daisy. She's a 5 year old 'Schnoodle' (Schnauzer x Poodle). Unfortunately, retrospectively, I should have shot closer to f/7.1 or similar to get Daisy in better focus, rather than on the sleeve of the OH, but that's all part of the learning curve.
Lightly processed for saturation, bringing up shadows slightly and a subsequent, albeit light, halo has developed. Happy enough with the outcome, love the connection between these two.

Party time after work...

Camera used was my new K-70. Shot yesterday in the Bowery area of Manhattan, NYC, just north of Chinatown. Cropped and edited in RawTherapee.
