Wow, you're skating already. This is one envious reply (and congratulations) from the Netherlands (where we only had two degrees Celsius freezing for one night). And this is a lovely picture.

What a picture Matt! I have the lake blades and also some no_longer_used clap skates from the Lake Placid days. Wear a size 9 by chance?
Thanks but no, I'm a 10. Just got some new skates and the new ones are really comfortable.

Walking to portage trail into Pinetree Lake in Algonquin Park. A nice easy 4 km stroll.

Heading out.

Eating snow.

Taking in the scene.

It is indeed in the Mediterranean area, but the island of Crete.

Thank you - yes, this is why the 18-135 is my main walk around lens.

The 18-135's versatility paid off here, though I did wish I had had brought along something faster, but that would have meant at least a 2 lens kit, and fiddling with lens changes in between and missing some shots then... A second camera would do the trick as well, but nothing beats the neat little package of one camera with the 18-135 for compactness and quality.
