Originally posted by camera_nut Nice images. l'm wanting to get this lens for my 1st Pentax body. Seems like it gets a bad rep because of corner softness at longer focal lengths. But it also seems like a lens that is used and enjoyed by it's owners. The 18-135 range for a single lens is my favorite on APS-C bodies. My Nikon 18-135 is not well liked because of plasticky build quality(and even plastic lens mount), and no image stabilization. it's very "Playskool". But it's one of my most used lenses because it's small, lightweight, and it just works well for me.
Yup, she's a very decent lens. Not as satisfying to use as the older manual glass, but the images hardly ever disappoint and the WR as well as the fact that it's not the heaviest of lenses results in this being the lens that I'll take along when hiking in the mountains. You'll enjoy this lens.
