Hi Folks
I was reading about these lenses in another forum and many people like these.
My expeiriance has not been good with my 100-400 Phoenix...Now the samples provided in this other forum, do not impress me...What are your thoughts on this lens?

Hi, I had the Vivitar version of this lens - while it tended to be somewhat soft at 400mm it generally was a good performer. The attached image was taken at 400mm almost directly into the sun - looks pretty good to my tired, old eyes.

I did sell it as I purchased the Sigma 170-500mm (couldn't quite stretch for the Bigma!!) cause I wanted the additional range.

That is a nice picture. What lens did you use to take it and what focal length?

It was taken with the Vivitar version of the 100-400mm lens at 400mm.

Your picture looks nice and sharp.
Here is a picture I took this morning of my three little ones with the phoenix version of the lens at 400mm..
I find it to be quite soft...
