pentax 70mm with K-5 overexposure

i just bought the pentax 70mm pancake lens for my K5 and the first thing i am noticing is that my photos are overexposing, especially when stopped down to f8. i typically set the camera to aperture priority and find i need to set exposure compensation to -2. is anybody else seen this problem?
thanks,
eric

Lens mounted properly?
Same problem with the lens on a K10D?
Sticky blades (not to be expected with a new lens)?

Just check the exposure mode dial hasn't been bumped first...

I find my K-5 tends to over expose things, and I usually have to set my camera similarly. Perhaps that's my fault though

i checked everything. what i find strange is that it overexposes.more and more as i stop it down. i was just wondering if this lens might be defective in some way.
thanks.

Maybe the chip is bad. Can you still return the lens?

From OP's replies above, it seemed like the blades were OK.

anyone considered a bad contact or dirt on either the lens or body contacts.

try mounting and dismounting a few times.

something like the DA70 is too new to have sticking aperture blades unless it was very badly abused

Update.... I guess it is sticky blades causing the problem. I can actually see it when looking into the lens from the front when I do the aperture preview. Basically when stopping down to f/16, I am getting different sized openings every time, and the shape of the aperture is not circular either. Hopefully my replacement will be better.
