FA & F lenses

I'm a beginner with Pentax. What's the difference between F and FA lenses?

F lenses don' t transmit the focus distance set.
F lenses don' t transmit their MTF values.
F lenses are grey, FA lenses are black.
F lenses have a smaller focussing ring.

That's it AFAIK.

F series' build quality is known to be slightly superior than the latter FA lineup. There's also a rumour that F lenses are somewhat better optically.
