Looking for something a bit better

Ok, so I have some "cheaper" lenses that I use right now, I'm looking for some better quality lenses to use. I shoot mostly motorsports at the moment so Length is key

I want something that is a better quality than my current ones, Some clear and crisp pictures is my goal.

I'm thinking the Sigma 100-300mm f4
Sigma 50-500mm "bigma"
Sigma 170-500mm
Sigma 70-200mm 2.8

I have seen impressive shots from all of these, and seeing as my budget is 1k, it leaves me a bit short for those primes

I was unhappy with the 170-500 Sigma. I found it very soft. I have not tried the others, so I cannot help you there.

If your budget is 1K (or 1M as it used to be) there was a Bigma being sold in the Marketplace for a darn good price.

There are some bigma users here, they seems to be happy with this "baby".

I am on the list yoou posted with a sigma APO 70-200f2.8 EX. I use it with the 1.4x TC and am extremely pleased with the performance both with the TC for a 300F4 and also with the lens on its own as a fast 70-200 for low light.

I reciently bought the 2x EX DG teleconverter for it, to extend the reach.

I have another option that also works well, a Pentax 300mm F4 plus 1.7x AF TC. there is some CA wide open, but stopped down to F5.6 or F8 and the lens is great.

Both these options unfortunately don't come cheap. due to lack of current production form sigma, the 70-200 sells for more than the origonal purchase price.

the 1.7x AF TC also sells now for about $450, almost double what I paid in 1991 when I bought it.
