I got my FA50/1.4 for US$200 for my original K20D kit almost 4 years ago. It's my
gotta-get-the-shot lens, and still my only AF prime. Wide-open for low-light, action, DOF control -- and stopped-down for great sharpness and rendition.
Just in terms of focal length on an APS-C frame, I like and use 50-55-58mm much more than 35-40-45mm. My favorite prime focal lengths (in order of use) are 50-28-21-100-16mm. But my most-used focal range is probably within 28-80mm. Sometimes faster is better. Sometimes slower is sharper, and with character.
ObTopic: I'll still recommend the 21Ltd over the 15Ltd for general-purpose usage.
