I already got most of my lenses from 8mm to 600mm. So, does not affect me much. Would like the Sigma 100-300 APO, Zeiss 21mm, maybe 2 more of the 17-70 Pentax, some other Voigts...125, 180. Other than that am set many times over.

Pentax lenses were plenty high as it was before the % increase. I just bought a like new open box 15mm LTD yesterday for about $480 delivered. Amazon had some 15 LTD new for $509. Was going to order 2 of them and when I went back within half a day the price was $649...Fudge Dat!

Interesting that the FA Limiteds and the DA 12-24 did not move. The price hikes are pretty steep especially on the flagship DA* zooms. Ouch.

12-24 may be disc

Not happy here...they just priced me out of my first autofocus prime. I've already expressed my displeasure at their "Contact Us" page . Couldn't hurt for others to do the same.

while your at it...tell them to make their dslr's to run on 4 AA's

I was about to buy an open box DA 15mm off of Amazon the other day but when I went to buy it this morning I found that the lens had been sold but also the saw the price jump in the DA 15mm brand new. It was like a kick in the nuts from a running start. One of the main selling points for me buying my K-5 was the limited prime lens collection. But now with the huge price hike I wonder why I should even bother and just go buy a D7000.

Shouldn't you wait a few weeks so that the market can settle down with this change before saying something?

Well it is sad that you have to be in such a rush to buy things nowadays. Even without price increases, look at all the nice Sigma, Zeiss and Voigts that are extict.

I noticed Amazon is asking $1250 for the 31LTD. The 60-250 zoom is also sky high $2000 at BH. Amazon has 2 open box copies for $1028.

Maybe someone should make a list of the old 'affordable' glass for the newbie Pentaxian.

This price increase completely surprised me. I now see that there has been many references to it on this forum, but I've been pretty busy for the last few weeks, and did not notice the news. I woke up this morning, and having the day off for once, decided to pull the trigger on the DA* 16-50 and the DA* 60-250. I decided that they had both finally reached a point of being worth it to me considering the likelihood of SDM failures. I put these lenses in my "cart" a little over a week ago, and should not have waited, but did in fact wait. I went to B&H and Adorama's websites, and could not believe the price difference from last week. Needless to say, I did not order either lenses, and will not order them until either the price goes back down or Pentax convince me that they have addressed the quality control issues.

Lesson learned (in regards to waiting)!

On the plus side, the used price for the FA* 80-200 doesn't seem that bad anymore (relatively speaking).

I agree that things will likely look different in a few weeks. But putting pressure on Pentax to make this happen (and to influence what "settled down" means) cannot hurt!

Nah... they got em. I'll add one...the Pentax M 50mm F4 Macro ...$75 - $100.

You guys know your lenses better than me. Make up a list of Pentax and 3rd party sleepers. It will also help them, skyrocket in price!

Not pleased at all personally, but will wait a couple weeks to see what shakes out. The price of the DA35/2.4, for example, is absurd now. It was going for a very consistent $169 but is now at $219. Its Pentax's low cost introduction to prime lenses. Nikon has a 50/1.8 that is their low cost intro to primes Amazon.com: Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras: Camera & Photo and it costs $129 with NO discount (ok, 8 cents off list) over MSRP has a distance scale and a metal mount.

You have an inflated sense of your importance to Pentax.

Still less expencive than here in sweden. Congrats US citizens, you know pay european prices for some of your lenses.
Wanna hear something stupid thou? It would be as expensive for me to fly from sweden to new york, go to the city, walk to b&h, buy the da15 fly back home, as if i bought it here. So quit you complaining, it is realy annoying when people complain abou cheap prices...
