Best guess I can throw is it's of the same quality as most of the third party 28MM lenses...probably decently sharp, but not the sharpest. Decent if you got it for under 20$ though...

Re-read: 35mm 2.8. Always fun to play with 'unknown' glass.

Looks very similar to Chinon style. Only one way to find out how good it is, use it.

You have done well, grasshopper.

One of my lens-buying rules: If it costs less than a burger or sandwich, buy it. If it costs more than a supreme pizza, think hard about it.

Your price in in the sandwich|burger range, so no problem. [That rule is good for weight control also -- buy lenses, not McBurgers.]

It may not be metering well on your camera. Try adjusting the WB to a positive number. That should brighten up your photos.

Really? It costs you only approx. 7 USD?
In Indonesia it might cost you around 25-30 USD.

I wish I could live in your country, really.

I think you mean the eV compensation, not the WB.

One must just be lucky. One day you walk into that pawn shop or whatever and there it is waiting for you at a bargain price Some you win, some you loose.

Yep, it is all luck, not location. One day you might find a reasonably clean Spotmatic with a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 for $5.

Another day you might see a K1000 that doesn't work, looks like it was drug down the street by its strap and has an unknown 28mm f2.8 on it, the seller swears it is worth $50, says Wolf Camera offered him $25 and he considers my generous $5 offer an insult. I'll see if he is there next week and ask why he didn't sell it to Wolf.

(Both true, same location, different sellers.)
