Another Sigma 10 -20 vs DA15 ltd Thread

Hey guys as you know prices went up for the DA 15 ltd from 500+ to 660 and then the Sigma 10 - 20 F3.5 went down from 950 to 650. Here's my question which one would you choose?

Personally me I'm a prime shooter but I kinda like the idea of building my zoom lens for some projects or shoots. I'm thinking of getting the siggy10 - 20 + tammy28 - 75 for an all around lens kit, but acquiring the DA 15 is still in my head.

I'm trying to convince myself to just get the 10 - 20 because of the versatility, but I'm a lazy guy so I wouldn't want to carry around a big lens with me when I go out and just want to have fun shooting(I also want a kit that would fit my motorcycle tailbag). What is the size difference between the two? can anyone post a picture of it? what is the weight difference?

Here's another one. I like showing motion or emotion on my work, so I would want to get an ND filter probably a 10 stop one. the DA15 has the same 49mm thread size as most of my prime lens, while the 10 - 20 is 82mm I believe. Would that be a pain for the 10 - 20 to have an ND filter for it?

Thanks guys (:!

Well as you say it's been asked and answered before, it's your personal preference, plus there are image samples from specific lenses in the lens section. What can we really add?

Except... sometimes I want to go wider or longer than 15.

Sizes and weights of lenses should be in the lens review portion of the forums and on manufacturer web sites.

If you're considering the Sigma 10-20 also look into the Tamron 10-24. That extra 4mm on the longer end is very useful. The DA15 should have the best IQ of the 3, though.

Thanks guys, but should I worry about getting the sigma a 10 stop filter? is that even possible? Sorry for the questions.

i have both and only use the Sigma at its wide end. The DA15 is the better lens, IQ wise, but if you need to go wider than 15mm, it is handy to have something else. I love that the DA15 and 21 can fit in my jeans pocket. the sigma is much larger. that said, i enjoy the pics ive gotten from the sigma.
deja vu moment, i think i made the same comment on a previous DA15 thread...sorry for the redundancy.
