Well, he specified a fast 50mm lens which is why I concentrated on the 50 and 55. I mentioned the 85 because of speed and compactness.

It was a SMC Takumar 50mm, and it was a f1.2 or f1.4, but all those I have seen only goes up to f16, and I am 100% sure mine went up to f22, becourse I was the only one at the photocourse with a 50mm f22.

Wondering if it could have been a special lens, as we got it from Pentax Denmark?

Erik
I have been concentrating on "special" lenses. There wasn't a 50 that went to f22 except for one of the macro 50mm lenses. None of the 55s did either except the early auto-Taks and presets.

The 50mm f2 went to f22 I still have and use mine. I know the OP said it was faster than a 1.8 ,and the f2 isn't ,but the f2 does go that far down

You have a m42 Super Takumar or S-M-C 50mm/2 lens?

Sounds like a Spotmatic SP1000.
I had / have a SP500. Came with the Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 that goes to f16.

Are you sure it was a Takumar lens? Lots of Brands made M42 lenses.

I am sure it was a Takumar lens, no, I have never taken a picture of myself in a mirror.

I have been wondering myself abut the lens, can't find anything on the net. (and no exif data on the paperpictures :-) )

The camera was a special gift my father got from Pentax Denmark.

Apart from the first version 50/1.4, the most special standard lenses in the mid sixties were still the 55mm f2.2 and 58mm f2. Both have f22. Particularly the 58mm would have been considered special as it was only produced for about one year. Pentax people in Europe, in those days, would be talking about those three standard lenses.

Those 55 and 58mm lenses were actually from the late 1950s and released on the original Asahi Pentax in 1957.

I had a Auto Takumar 35mm f2.3, which was the widest aperture 35mm available when it was released, That went down to f22, and had a massive front element....

Thank you for all your replies, but I have search the net myself and found out the same things, and it is non of that lenses. Hoped that someone had heard abut this lens, it is a mystery for me, faster than 1.7 and up to f22 and 50mm. on a Spotmatic. These things I know for shure. Have a little hope to find it on a second hand marked near my town sone day. :-)
Thaks for all the help you have tried to give me.

I guarantee you that no such 50mm/1.4 Takumar that went to f22 existed. As a very very rare 1 or 2 of a kind prototype, maybe. I have never seen evidence of one. neither Gerjan van Oosten nor Fred Sherfy have mentioned one in either of their books. There isn't a reverence on the Asahi Optical History Club site or Fred Mechelhoff's site.
