Anvh, you are so good in math and memorizing details!
I agree someone made this story but I think it is a beautiful one, that is why I remember it. I usually don't have as good memorization as you do

I like the story because it tells the glorious history of Pentax, from the era of m42 and * lenses, all the way to these three limited lenses . . But sadly, pentax didn't continue the brilliant in digital age.
Hope history is not the only thing pentax can show off...

This all sounds like numerology.

Just good in searching stuff XD
Wiki has a list for the true normal lenses.

I like the story as well and luckily Ricoh has brought back some of the original designers so hopefully this a begin of a new era.
I'm for example very curious about the limited zoom lens on the roadmap, that sound like it can be a very unique lens.
I hope they will give the FA limited a technological upgrade soon, adding new coatings, round the aperture blade and add a form of quick-shift.
Doubt it will ever happen but we can dream right.

Note that "77 is the angle of view when the naked eye is looking at a human" is not one of the reasons. The technical report says that this reason was what the lens catalog stated, but then proceeds to provide the real reason for choosing 77 as a number between 70-80.

31 and 43 are prime numbers, making them prime primes. 77 was because someone didn't get the message (or can't do math).

77 is the sum of the first eight prime numbers, does that count?
