Not really... I have a few (see sig)... I really now only feel that I need ALL THE LTDs (although not fussed about the DA40 for some reason...), FA20-2.8, DA*55-1.4, FA100macro2.8 and the DA10-17fish... maybe a BIGMA...

If I include the BIGMA that's 12 more... And I'd do away with some of my current lenses... Maybe...

I feel the need for the FA LTDs myself (and the DALTDs second or to fill out the wide on apsc), I've considered selling of most of my various kit just to get those with a new body
But I know I will just start collecting again after doing that

I will buy lens only if the quality/value/price are acceptable. Brand name plays very little into my buying decisions.

But they would offer instant rebates (discounts) for other mount. Like the Sigma 18-200 II lens. The price you can find for Canikon/Sony mount is 20%-25% lower than the one
you can find for PK mount.

Regards

If I see lens thats up my price alley, I'll buy it. But I have to say, the prices of new pentax lenses are not really calling me. I am attracted to good manual glass for video (Takumar 50mm and M 50 1.7 come to mind).

I'll add that the future DA* zoom and the Ltd zoom interest me a lot.

I have only bought the 40mm pancake and the 35mm f2.4 (sold now).. All other lenses are used or 3rd party.. Tamron, Sigma, Consul & Rokinon... I have been building my MF lens lineup and actually been getting better manual focusing.. It has crossed my mind to get rid of all my AF lenses (not including the pancake.. i love that little thing) and going strickly manual focus.. Rokinon makes a great little line up of primes that I am eye balling..

I pledge not to buy a new Pentax branded lens until the new pricing policy is eliminated EDIT: Or it is ignored by the seller.

I will only buy new from other makers such as Sigma or Tamron.

If I do buy a Pentax branded lens it will only be used.
That pledge will be easy for me ... until the DA* ~16-85 is released. Otherwise, I have all the Pentax lenses I'll ever need.

I feel like a few of the lenses are a tad too high... like the DA* 50-135 and 16-50. The other ones are competitively priced with Canikon/etc.

The only piece of Pentax equipment that I brought new was my K-x/18-55 kit- I will probably not buy new again unless I have to. This isn't because of the price hike, I just have no problem buying used and saving a considerable amount of $$$.

Canon 70-200 f/4: $700
Pentax 60-250 f/4: $1600

I think there's a disparity in all three DA* lenses.

I think a lot of the DA lenses are still not competitive but as Ned said there's not always a direct comparator.

Err, forgot about that one.
Really does make Canon look more attractive...
Nonetheless, I probably wouldn't even buy the Canon new even though it's less than 1/2 the price of Ptax.
