Take the pledge - No new Pentax lens purchases

I pledge not to buy a new Pentax branded lens until the new pricing policy is eliminated EDIT: Or it is ignored by the seller.

I will only buy new from other makers such as Sigma or Tamron.

If I do buy a Pentax branded lens it will only be used.

Pledged. In case you're wondering, I have bought nearly all my Pentax lenses from B&H so I'm with the US guys on this issue.

I am lucky in that I had most of the lens I wanted already. But there are a couple that *was* on my plan, DA* 300 etc.

I was first a little turned off by the new policy, but my understanding is that it is a minimum advertised price policy and that you can still haggle with dealers. If the dealers want the sales, they will still let the lenses go at the old prices.

Maybe you like haggling, I drive a Saturn.

Even if it might be an inferior product compared to a similar Pentax lens?

With the current prices I'd like to hear about one the doesn't beat new Pentax lenses in a cost- benfit analysis. If there is one then wait for a used one to come up, even if it costs the same as new that would mean no reinforcement of Pentax for its bad behavior toward its customers.

As this currently relates to the USA market, I will not pledge. If this is going to be international, I might reconsider that position (but OK, locally I'm already used to those high prices).

Yeah nothing new.
Btw it's quite normal to haggle right or is that a Dutch thing?
I've never bought a lens or camera at the advertised price...

What's to keep them from doing the same to you in the RSA? Given it's a global economy this will impact you as well.
