People, Tamron is not going to release a Pentax copy to a random French photo store and no one else. When it is actually ready, all major photo outlets will have it. Until places like B&H and Adorama have it, no one does. You really think Tamron will send the first copies to anyone besides these major photo super-powers?

AKiss20 > seems like B&H was a few hours late, that's all
note that Adorama has not yet listed the lens as available

Perhaps this will be the final incentive needed by Pentax to deliver the DA* 60-250mm f/4.

The time has come. I now have to do some serious thinking of whether I want to give up the extra stop for the weather sealing and slightly wider focal range... (no, I don't want to / won't buy both)) I should just not buy the 60-250 out of spite and get this like I 1st intended.

I really don't think the 60-250 is such an awe-inspiring lens. It better have prime-like image quality, or else I really can't justify the slightly better reach, f/0.5 more and bigger bulk than my Tokina AF 70-210 f/4.5.

A 70-200 f/2.8 sounds like just what the doctor ordered.

Didn't mean to go out. I was just reacting to people who eagerly think they can jump the ship and get ahead somehow. Just offering some advice. Now that B&H has it, by all means, I think its arrived.

Cheers

Listed at $999.99 cdn locally. Probably less in the US but we have a 10 year warranty in Canada. I reserved one so I am waiting for its arrival soon.

Tamron sells the F and EF mount versions of the 70-200 f/2.8 with ultrasonic motor as well.
