Tamron 70-200 and TC's

has anyone had experience using a 2x or 1.4/1.5x TC (tamron / kenko) and can tell me if i stop down to around F8-F11 or so, is the sharpness acceptable for landscape shots (tripod mounted)?

also has anyone experience using filters on top as well?

i am interested in doing some landscape photography with GND filters and long lenses and wondering if anyone had good experiences for this particular use

cheers

My experiences with the predecessor, the SP 80-200mm f/2.8 is that it takes Tamron and Kenko teleconverters very well.

However, if your main interest is landscape photography with long focal lengths (I like that myself) you will soon dicover the degrading effects of atmospheric haze, dust and turbulence when shooting at long distances over the ground. It can be rewarding, but not each and every day under all circumstances.

there is a review says this lens works better with sigma TC

Tamron SP AF 70-200 mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) MACRO review - Image resolution - Lenstip.com

"What’s more, from all the 70-200 mm f/2.8 class lenses, it’s the Tamron which cooperates the best with a converter (of course as long as the image resolution is concerned). It’s even more impressing as we used a Sigma converter; Sigma should be ashamed that the Tamron with a Sigma TC works a lot better than Sigma lenses."
