Hello all, anybody here? I'm a novice from 20+ years ago that forgot everything I didn't know about photography. I have a barely used PZ-1P with a 28-200mm that I just recently pulled out of storage and started using again. Anyway, I went lense shopping yesterday at B&H and Adorama but did not find anything, hard to believe they had nothing for me at least according to the people that helped, but the problem is I don't really know which lenses work with this camera. What is the best way for me to determine what fits my camera? I'm particularly looking for a nice fish eye I had a few ideas in my head. Thanks

You have lots of options
Film Era Pentax K-Mount Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

You probably will want a FF compatible lens with an aperture ring, so these are all still for sale and might be useful:

FA 35/2
FA Ltd 43/1.9
FA 50/1.4
DFA 50/2.8

DFA 100/2.8

Sigma:
105 Macro,
300mm,
500mm

Tamron:
70-200 mm,
28-75 mm,
90mm macro

SamYang:

Thanks for the info. Does it matter if the lens is DSLR? FF I'm assuming means Full Frame?? Is the PZ-1P a K-Mount or Screw Mount? I was under the understanding that both would work? I tried this lens Pentax SMCP-DA 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 ED Autofocus Lens 21580 B&H but it does not capture the full frame.

DSLR and film lenses will work, as long as they are K-mount (which is what the PZ-1P is). Screw mount lenses will work on K-mount bodies, but will need an adapter.

If you haven't seen it yet, the user reviews page for the PZ1-P might be useful to have a look at.

The DA 10-17 is a digital [APS-C] lens that will not be suitable for use on your PZ-1P.

If you want a fish-eye that will work on your PZ-1P, the SamYang (or Rokinon) 12mm f2.8 fisheye in Pentax mount may be your best bet. They are new lenses, manual focus only, but will work on film bodies, and any Pentax K-mount digital body too.

Tokina

I believe the Tokina ATX-Pro 28-70 and both the Tokina ATX Pro 20-35 2.8 and Tokina AF 20-35 3.5-4.5 are FF lenses....and good ones at that!

The PZ-1p can control the aperture from the camera, so newer lenses without aperture rings are fine.
The DA10-17 fisheye zoom works fine on my PZ-1 from about 15mm, and gives 180º coverage from corner to corner.
Other DA lenses known to cover full frame (35/2.4, 40/2.8, 55/1.4, 70/2.4, 200/2.8, 300/4.0, 560/5.6) will also work perfectly on your PZ-1p
Of course, every DFA, FA, F, A, M and K lens will be fine as well.

B&H has 50 FF lenses availeble, of course some duplicates between stuff like Samyang/Rokinon/Bower
SLR Lenses, DSLR Lenses | B&H Photo Video

Think it's time to start looking at selling off my D800 and acquired lenses.. The K-1 looks to be a slight upgrade from a D810 IMHO and at good price point! Years late, but well done.
