Full Frame Lens

Hi,

I have been considering selling the following as I wanted to concentrate on earlier models in my collection.

Z1
SF7
SF7 with Pentax F - Zoom 28 - 80mm f3.5 - 4.5
Z10
MZ10 with Sigma Aspherical 28 - 80mm f3.5 - 5.6
ZX10 with Tamron AF 28 - 200mm f3.8 - 5.6
MZ50 with Sigma Zoom 28 - 80mm f3.5 - 5.6
MZ60 with SMC Pentax - A 80 - 200mm f4.7 - 5.6
Z70 with Pentax F Zoom 70 - 200mm f4 - 5.6
MZ - 5n with SMC Pentax - FA 28 - 80mm f3.5 - 5.6

On reading about the hopefully coming Full Frame in the near future, should I consider retaining these lens and just let the bodies go?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

The read and hope for full frame is already 6 years or older so don't get your hopes up...

While I don't have experience with any of those lenses, none of them seem to be highly regarded by users.
Would you really use a cheap old lens of a (probably) very expensive high-end body, even if it did happen to exist? IMO it would be worth spending a little bit more (in proportion) to get a few quality lenses.
Short answer is no, I don't think you should keep them if you don't already use them.

The only reason I went to Pentax when I entered the DSLR world was my collection of cheap old manual focus K mount lenses from the film era, when I was an impoverished student.
I have never used any of them in anger, and now I have a sweet collection of quality AF glass.
I suspect the same will happen if you ever get a fancy full-frame Pentax. I'm looking forward to that day too

I'll side with @victordeamorin. Those don't seem to be sweetheart or superior lenses. All are fairly commonplace and don't attract heated demand. Sell all those, and you CAN buy better FF stuff!

While these may not be prized rare lenses, by adding below 28 mm you would have a start in digital photography

You can then build the kit you want without rushing out to cover the same focal lengths over again

While these are all film and hence full frame lenses, don't bet the farm on a full frame body.

Good Morning All,

Thanks for your replies.

I don't use any of these as they are just part of my collection that I am thinking seriously of disposing of to be replaced by earlier screw mount bodies.

I am a collector as well as a user of both film and digital.

To see my collection I have them listed in the serial number data base. I have only been seriously collecting for the last twelve months.

Regards.
