I suggest a new iPod for your wife. It worked for me.

LBA rules...

I'm sure you'll find a way to get around that little detour...

Hi Eddy
I think Eric is onto something here. If not an iPod, how about anything she wants of equal value to the particular lens in question? That way everybody wins except the bank account.

NaCl(besides the plastic card people need more of our interest...this is what I tell myself anyway)H2O

I guess I could hold her "Cannondale" Bicycle hostage until she relents.

There are ways . . . . .

Hey Eddy,

You'll love your FA35; I bought one in July and it has become one of my favorite lenses.

I should point out that when I orderd my 35, I explained to my wife that it would be the last lens for a considerable period. Since I bought it, I picked up a DA 21, a DA 10-17FE and - SHE GAVE ME a DA 70 for Christmas.

So, there is life beyond the FA35.

Jer

I'm looking forward to getting it here. I got the 50mm F1.4 about a week ago and have taken quite a few shots with it.

While it's a great lens, it's just a bit long. Of course, from the old film days, 50mm was just perfect. So, the 35 will be my "normal" lens. I've had my DSLR for about 3-1/2 months now and have taken a ton of shots. Unfortunately, most of the are throw aways. At this point, I would have spent a small fortune in film....

At least, last time I checked. I have to settle for a "poor" Specialized.

Here's my detour.

I'm sure your financier knows your style of photography with your current set of lenses and - dare I say it - is getting bored (gasp!). Mine right now is tight candid closeups, so I'm looking at telephoto lenses...my financier doesn't want it "Your P&S will do it!".

So I showed different photos from various websites to my "financier" by leaving my computer on all day with the "My Pictures Screensaver". A couple days later the financier tells me she happened to fall in love with a certain picture she saw on my computer and now I'm being proded to get the lens that will allow me to enable me to get a similar result. (drat - it's a superwide or fisheye! I wanted a telephoto )

Lesson learned - you can't always get what you want, but you will get something.

No - I'm not complaining! I'm sure I'm going to have a blast with whatever new lens I get.

Sorry to hear that yours went to the wayside. How long until it's fixed?
