Vivitar 75-200 f3.8

Was this a decent buy? Ebay number 110212511624 I could not find any info on this lens. Is any one familiar with it?

I have a Vivitar 75-205mm f3.8. Mine was built in 1981, and it looks a little different then the one in that auction. Mine is a push/pull zoom and focusing ring, instead of a zoom ring with a separate focus ring. So I'm not sure that they are optically the same. But my copy produces very sharp images, and is not a bad lens at all. I just wish that it had an "A" setting, that would make it a little easier to use with my k100d. If it did I would use it a lot more then I do.

Here is a sample right from the camera.

i also had one, sold it to someone here. it also had the matched 2x TC with it. i was very surprised at how good it was.. ck the serial number next time. look for the kiron 22xxxxx or the komine 28xxxxxx. i had another vari aperture by tokina and it wasn't near as good..

while you're waiting try and find the matched 2xTC. the TC will say on it that it's for the 75-205 lens. i was impressed with it also even tho i hate 2x on zooms.. i've seen it on ebay a few times by itself..

well guys, based on your queries and replies, i just bought the same lens, push/pull kiron version and the matched tc on ebay. i suspect this will be a nice addition for macros on my k10D. am looking forward to their arrival while i'm visiting florida. the posted pic sold me on the lens. thanx for the input

No offence... but next time perhaps find out what you're buying beforehand. Unless you have money to waste, in which case by all means go for it
