This is my dream lens. I could sell my soul to devil to get 500mm/4.5.

It's real. Notice the shotgun sight on the top - handiest thing going for quick aiming - I have one on the 400/5.6 M lens.

I missed one of these 500/4.5's in Chicago, much to my disgust. It was near mint, too.

It was about $550, probably too much with the wobbling rear section, but it was an easy fix and the glass is flawless, so I'm happy

That was a steal! The one I missed was over $1,000, and I thought that was a good buy!

while i dont really care whether the OP actualy owns this unit, 500 bucks isnt all that much money and i dont think anyone would go to extremes to fake the ownership of any given lens,

BUT,

the PICTURE certainly draws attention, to my eyes it does not look real, the super white background and the extreamly uniform shaddow that seems... incorrect for the size of the lens, in relation to the tripod, in relation to how far it would have to be on the tripod in relation to how far it is from the super white feature less wall...

etc etc....

take another photo of you holding it in your hand to remove all doubt

This is great, I don't think I've caused such a ruckus in a while, must be the Canon digicam I took the picture with.

Now I just need to wait for some weather warm enough to let me use it without getting frost bitten :ugh:

i like mine also..
there's a U shaped head sold on ebay for around $100(make offer) tha works well with this lens. of course you need a steady tripod to support it. i added 4 extra screws to mine to help the three already there.. if you do a search on ebay for''gimbal'' it'll probably show up.. if not let me know..

Wow Mike, you took all that ridiculousness in good stride. After the 1st hater, I had enough of'm based on other posts from his short time here and my 'ignore list' grew by one. But the lengths you went to for no reason.... I'm real sorry to have witnessed it. ...please don't let that idiocy of a few give you a bad taste in your mouth 'bout being around here. Looking forward to the results.
